St. Michael's Academy

It is my pleasure to welcome you to St. Michael’s Academy! We are a dedicated community of teachers and staff seeking to serve children from Preschool through 5th grade. Our goal is to provide a place where children can grow spiritually, academically, and socially in a caring and loving environment.

Most importantly, we strive to teach children to seek the Kingdom of God and to glorify Him in all we do. We firmly believe in Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” We not only work to instill Christ-like character in our students, but also to train them how to apply scripture to their daily lives. We hope that each child who attends St. Michael’s enters a relationship with God that lasts throughout his/her life. We are so pleased and honored to be part of each child’s spiritual journey!

Our mission begins with a dedicated teaching staff that sees their work at St. Michael’s as a ministry of Christ. St. Michael’s faculty abundantly pours out love and joy to our children, modeling God’s love for all of us. It is our belief that each child is created purposefully by God with his/her own unique gifts and talents. We aim to recognize and grow these talents, giving children opportunities to discover their potential. Our goal is to equip children to become confident, independent thinkers and life-long learners. We offer a rich curriculum which includes Abeka, Christian Schools International, and BJU Heritage Studies, and Purposeful Design textbooks. Each week our preschool and elementary students worship together in Chapel, and the preschool students have experiences in Spanish. Our elementary students have weekly lessons in Art, Music, PE, and Technology. Kindergarten – 6th grade students have Spanish twice a week, and our upper elementary students have computer programming once a week.

We believe that partnering with parents in a child’s education is imperative to success in school. Communication is something we welcome at St. Michael’s, developing a bond between our staff and your family. We encourage parents to become involved in their child’s education by volunteering in activities such as field trips, classroom parties, the Parent-Teacher Organization, and school events. We hope to have each family feel like a part of our school community, and better yet, our school family.

It is a privilege and a blessing to serve as the principal of such an outstanding school and to be a part of what God is doing here at St. Michael’s Academy! If I can be of any further assistance to you, please contact me through our school office at 540-349-3110.

In His Service,

Melissa Mongillo
